Anonymous website statistics

Byte uses limited statistical analytics to understand and improve this website. This records events such as an anonymous page visit, referral source, pages viewed during one browser session, time on a page, scroll depth, button or link clicks and whether a form was started. Vercel Web Analytics, PostHog EU Cloud and Byte's first-party analytics endpoint help us process these statistics.

This layer does not receive names, email addresses, messages, application answers or the raw IP address stored in form records. It does not create an advertising profile. Anonymous statistics are enabled unless you turn them off. You can object at any time using the Turn off anonymous statistics control below.

Detailed analytics and session replay

If you choose Accept, Byte also enables PostHog's browser analytics and privacy-masked session replay. This can recognise a returning browser, produce more detailed journeys and show interaction patterns. Text and form inputs are masked, and Byte does not identify the PostHog visitor with information submitted through a form. Detailed analytics only starts after your affirmative choice and stops if you change that choice.

Reliable form records

When you submit a contact message, waitlist or newsletter signup, or founding access application, the requested submission is stored in Byte's database whether or not analytics is enabled. A separate conversion event is generated from that successful database record without copying your name, email or form answers into analytics.

Microsoft Bookings

Choosing to book an intro takes you to a Microsoft-hosted booking page. Microsoft may use cookies or similar technologies needed to run that page. Microsoft’s notices and controls apply there. We do not load Microsoft Bookings trackers on Byte pages before you choose to leave.

Your choice

Choose Decline to refuse optional detailed analytics and replay, or Accept to allow them. Declining keeps only Byte's limited anonymous statistical measurement. To object to that measurement as well, use Turn off anonymous statistics. You can reopen the privacy controls and change your choice at any time.
